This is a pack of three activities we do in my class to celebrate Father's Day.
The first is a book my students create to celebrate Father's Day. My students give it to their dads during our Father's Day Root Beer Float Party and the dads love them.
Templates for a front cover, back cover, and all book pages (along with step-by-step directions) are included.
On each page, the students complete a sentence about their dad and draw a picture to go along with it.
This is a picture of my dad.
My dad likes to eat...
My dad likes to play...
My dad is good at...
My dad helps me when...
I love my dad because...
When finished, the book is tied together with a ribbon. This is a fun keepsake to send home to the dads.
Pages with blank spaces are also included, which allow the students to replace the word dad with uncle, grandpa etc. if needed.
For the second craft, students use the templates to make each project - a boy or girl holding a piece of paper that reads "I love my dad because..." The students then write a paragraph about why they love their fathers (great for persuasive writing, in line with the Common Core Standards). Two types of writing paper are included for each craft to accomodate different handwriting programs (Handwriting Without Tears and Zaner-Bloser). "I love my mom because..." writing paper is also included so this craft can be made for Mother's Day as well.
The third craft is a baseball and bat invitation inviting the dads to a Father's Day party.
All templates and step-by-step directions (with pictures) are included. Please message me if you have any questions. Enjoy!
