This activity makes for the perfect Father's Day gift! This story was based off of the popular Laura Numeroff book "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie". "If you Give a Dad a Donut" is a comical book about the typical life of a dad; showcasing just how much they do for their children on a daily basis. Have the students in your class illustrate the book for their Dads, then cut out and assemble the book by cutting along the dotted lines and stapling the book together. This activity is also great way to teach cause and effect in writing and reading. Also, a way to look for see-saw writing strategies. This activity includes literacy concepts and cutting out the book also allows for students to enhance their fine-motor skills.
I hope you enjoy!
