A Father's Day interactive little reader/read aloud for children in kindergarten and 1st grade, plus how to make a paper bag gift book for dad!
You can use the story in the reading/literacy center, as an emergent reader, read aloud or for group reading. It is in two printing versions, color and black&white (ink friendly) .
You can print it or use with your laptop, projector or Ipad in class.
Templates and detailed instructions for the craftivity are included!
"My Special Dad" is about the everyday life of a dad and his daughter. While reading, the children try to imagine how this dad looks and attempt to draw him, before the story ends. A sheet for this activity is provided. The way he looks is not revealed until the last page of the book (spoiler: He is a funny monster dad!). Physical characteristics of this dad are presented, one page at a time.
Also contains worksheets, venn diagrams and graphic organizers (black&white).
I have included an additional version of the worksheets and templates, for children who live with different family members and would like to celebrate them on this day.
