This worksheet asks students about types or fats (trans and saturated) and types of sugars. It also asks why we need some fats and sugars, and why too much is bad for us. There is an investigation included where children analyse the nutrition labels of food packaging (teacher can bring in a range) and record the amounts of total fat, sat. fat, trans fats and sugar.
These sheets would be used after explicitly teaching about types of fats and sugars. I have done this activity with mainstream Grade 3 and gifted Grade 1/2 very successfully.
