This is a week long writing activity to use towards the beginning of the year. Students first identify a favorite place and draw and label their place. They then use descriptive language to give readers a sense of what their place is like. On day 3 writers come up with a small moment memory or narrative that happened at their favorite place. Day 4 writers come up with directions to their favorite place- this may be driving directions or what they do before going to their favorite place. Finally they persuade their reader to visit their favorite place.
