Test how brave your students are with this fun Halloween writing activity. Make Fear Factor Mystery Boxes filled surprises like spider eyes, witch hair and werewolf ears. Students will reach into the mystery box, feel around and write a description of what they feel inside. Students will then make a guess what is inside the Fear Factor Mystery Box. There are 20 suggestions with two different ideas for each. To use choose how many Fear Factor Mystery Boxes you would like.Prep the Mystery Boxes and fill them with the item you choose. Label each box with a number and a Fear Factor label.
Place each Fear Factor Mystery Box in a location in your classroom. Each student will need a Writing Book (Copy recording sheets for how many Fear Factor Mystery Boxes you have.) Make a list of the different box names so students will know they are feeling. Students will rotate around and reach inside each of the Fear Factor Mystery Boxes. They will use adjectives to describe what they feel and record it in the writing book. Choose how many adjectives you want them to use. Students will guess from the list what they think is inside the mystery box. At the end share out what each box contained.
