Do you need something to enhance your Math lesson around Halloween time? These are the PERFECT addition to any classroom. There are 70 total task cards included. They cover the following topics: 2 by 2 digit multiplication, addition problems, subtraction problems, and multiplication word problems. There is NOT a recording sheet included. I usually use a generic recording sheet for these.
How do I use these?
I set my room up with black paper covering the walls, spider webs adorning the walls, spooky music, and lots of black lights! I also put flickering candles from the Dollar Tree around the room by the spider webs. Then, I create station names on butcher paper using highlighters or neon paint to glow under the black lights. Station ideas: All of the word problems are at one station, and I have the bean boozled game set up. If they get the problem correct, they get to play the game! (they always want to play the game). I have a 'Safe Zone' where they go to a math website to complete math problems. The 'Face Your Fears' zone, where they have to stick their hand in a 3 boxes, where the problems are in cooked spaghetti, cooked cabbage, or grapes. This is my FAVORITE ZONE, as the kids get so excited! Of course there are lots of different ideas on what to do with these cards, these are just the ones that have worked with my classroom! Be on the lookout for free signs to go on top of the 'Face Your Fears' boxes.
