Help students be prepared for handling feelings of being afraid and feelings of being unsafe.
Students need the guidance of an adult to teach them the difference between problems they can handle on their own and when they need help from an adult.
We take it for granted that students will seek us out when they are in danger, yet is my experience that children can become nervous about asking for help. This lesson builds their confidence!
This product contains 20 real life situation cards, evenly split between events that need adult intervention and problems students can make a plan to handle on their own.
Discussion guides are included to highlight important teaching topics. There is also a Helping Hands Idea page and a worksheet to evaluate student understanding.
