Engage students in informational reading, analysis, and writing through this interactive lesson.
Before reading, students complete a journal prompt to promote discussion.
During reading, CCSS aligned questions are completed, requiring students to look back at the text (close reading) and cite evidence.
After reading, students utilize a T-Chart graphic organizer and guided writing activity in order to compose a summary.
