Product Description
"I would believe only in a God who knows how to dance." Friedrich Nietzsche (German philosopher ~ 1844 - 1900)

The Swing Era - the era of big band music that started in the mid-1930s.

Names like Benny Goodman, Count Basie, Glenn Miller. And the new dance that came with it - the jitterbug - quite a contrast to previous, rather sedate forms of dance.

It caught on in Germany, too, and was banned by the Nazi Party as degenerate behavior.

This is the story of a group of Swing kids in Hamburg and how Nazi rule and oppression affected their friendship - and their lives - forever.

The Feature * Film sheet for this film has twenty follow-along questions in English that go with the film. These can also be used as enrichment to a topic or as a substitute lesson plan (or emergency lesson plan).

Having students select from multiple choice answers allows more

time for their eyes to stay on the film (and not spend it looking

down writing out answers) and, thus, not miss important

moments in the film.

Included here are:

* A 7-page introductory overhead in English with some background on the time period
* A Feature * Film sheet with 20 follow-along questions in English
* An answer key.

All items are ready-to-use to in class. (11 pages)
