Join the February Language Club to get a bundle of games at a reduced price! Each week I will update this product and you will receive a brand new language game (PreK-5th grade level) that you can use with your students. All activities have a color, black/white and NO PRINT version included as well as data sheets (as appropriate).
WEEK 1 - Sweetheart Suffixes (1st-5th grade)
This game includes 24 picture root word cards (12 for [-y] and 12 for [-ful] and 36 root word cards (without pictures). Some of the root words work with both suffixes. There are also 3 different game boards that you can use in a variety of ways. All printable materials are available in COLOR and Black/White. A NO-PRINT suffix activity is also included in this bundle as well as individual and group data sheets.
Use the picture or word cards as you play. Shuffle the cards and place them face-down in the middle of the group. Print 1 game board for each player. Players take turns picking a card and deciding what suffix goes with the root word. You can use the game boards to have students sort the words or fill up cards like a Bingo board. Have students use the words in a sentence or define/describe the word for additional vocabulary and syntax practice.
Week 2 - Mardi Gras Mash-Up! (2nd - 5th Grade)
There are 48 game cards included in this set (available in color and black/white). There are 16 Tier 2 antonyms (8 pairs), 16 cards for convergent naming (What category is it?) and 16 cards for divergent naming (Name items in the category). There is also an optional spinner that you can create to have players spin for points after each turn – something to make this game activity more exciting for everyone! All cards are also presented in a “NO PRINT” PDF version that you can use on your computer or tablet. Individual and group data sheets are also included!

This activity pack contains 20 picture pairs (available in color and black/white) that you can you to teach and practice picture/word associations with your students. There are two ways you can use these cards.
1. Cut out the egg but keep the halves together. Ask students how the 2 words go together.
2. Cut out the eggs and cut them on the cracked line. Have students identify the associated pictures, match them and explain how they go together.
**Have students come up with other words that could be associated with these pictures for an additional task to help with word retrieval!
There is a NO-PRINT version of this activity included too! And, of course, this pack wouldn’t be complete without individual and group data sheets for you!
