Product Description
Includes 21 pages (4 weeks + 1 day for 100th Day of School) of daily math and language arts morning work or homework review activities for first graders, in a simple format that encourages independent work. Includes TWO VERSIONS - one for Number of the Day up to 99 (tens and ones), and one for up to 159 (hundred, tens, and ones).

Included on each page:
- Student name
- Calendar (Write the month, day, year, and identify the day of the week)
- Number of the Day (Write numeral, write digits in each place on the place value chart, color base ten blocks to represent)
- Quick math facts - addition (missing addend) and subtraction within 10
- Sentence writing (write a complete sentence to match a picture, or edit a sentence for capitalization and punctuation, and revise to add a descriptive word/adjective)

Week 1 and 2 also include one or more activities each day:
- Part-Part-Whole Math: Make 6 or 7. Find the missing “part” (addend) in a math fact, within a number bond. Write the related facts (fact family).
- Story Problem (result unknown).
- Repeating Pattern (label, circle core, extend).
- Reading Comprehension (read short passage and identify problem).

Week 3 and 4 also include one or more activities on each page:
- Part-Part-Whole Math: Make 8. Find the missing “part” (addend) in a math fact, within a number bond. Write the related facts (fact family).
- Story Problem (start unknown or change unknown).
- Repeating Pattern (label, circle core, extend).
- Reading Comprehension (read short passage and identify solution).

Once students learn the activities, they can complete them independently in about 5-10 minutes each day. Morning work can be checked whole-group in less than 5 minutes. Number of the day is provided by the teacher (I use the number of days of school and write it on the board), or it can be differentiated. These activities could also be used as homework.
