There are 31 journal prompts set for the month of February. Set the journal up like an emergent reader that you might use during literacy. Students can keep them in their desks or you can have a bin where you store math journals. You can use all of them (maybe do more than one a day if you utilize all of the pages) or you can pick and choose. Most of the journals are meant to be teacher directed. For higher learners, they might be used as independent problem solving.
Math skills covered in this journal:
-various ways to represent numbers
-line of symmetry
-making ten and proving with an equation
Be on the lookout for future math journals for each month!
