Product Description
This product is part of a series of monthly reading log and book response pages. My littles will complete these pages during their independent reading time...they will work with any book they are reading (fiction and nonfiction are included.) I included a cover page in case you want to staple the entire packet for your littles to work on throughout the month! This would also be perfect to put in a listening station, or buddy reading! Students could fill out the sheets together after they read a book together!

For kinder babies, or firsties who aren't yet reading, you could send the reading log home for parents to fill out and students can fill out the response sheets after class read alouds.

Here is what is included in the pack
Reading Log (There are two versions...one for students to write if it is fiction/nonfiction and the date, and one for younger learners who just write the title and rate the book)

Such a Character- Students describe the main character in a book
Put it in The Mail- Students write a letter to a character in their book
Sweet Sequencing- Students draw/write about the events in a story
(a few versions are included for differentiation)
What's the Cause-Students write about events in the story and write the cause
Character Comparing- Students compare 2 characters on a venn diagram
My Connection-Students write about a connection they have to the text

Let's Ask Some Questions-Students write questions they have while reading a nonfiction text
Lovely Learning-Students write about their schema and their new learning
We Love Facts-Students write about facts they learned from their book
I Thought I Knew-Students write about a misconception they had, and what they know now

We Love New Words-Students write new words they found in their text, and what they think it means
Digraph Hunt-Students search their books for words that have sh, ch, th, and wh in them
Love Bird Endings-Students search their books for words that end in ing, ed, s, and es

I will definitely model these for my students before they do them independently. This is a great way to differentiate...some sheets are more challenging than others, and some can be done with just drawing (and no writing).

Check out the year long bundle!
