Words in a Word is a word work activity suitable for all learning levels and is also called Making Words. There are 10 different Words in a Word activities relating to the month of February. Cut up the provided letters, scramble them up, and see what smaller words can be found using at least 3 letter combinations. Then write the words down on the chart. The goal is to see if students can rearrange all the scrambled letters to make one big word. This is a fantastic literacy activity to introduce/review homonyms as well as vocabulary words. Words are endearment, February, chocolate, sweetheart, heartthrob, valentine, loveliness, darling, romance, and admirer. This is great for centers, partner or individual work, whole group activities, homework, and any word study time. Students from 3rd grade up through high school will enjoy this because advanced students will find advanced words. Each activity page has a list of possible words that fit the selected letters (from 3 letters to 6+ letters.) How many Words in a Word can be found? Enjoy!
