Product Description
February Writing Prompts. “February: Did You Know?” was specifically designed for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade students who struggle with oral language fluency and vocabulary development. This product consists of 21 journal prompts, all of which are connected with and related to the month of February. Each prompt has been broken into three parts. For the first part, students “dip” into their (background) knowledge regarding specific vocabulary words and phrases. The second part asks the students to “go deeper and discuss” the prompt with their classmates. The last part requires that the students “draw out” their thinking, by drawing pictures related to the prompt. These journal prompts can be used as invaluable learning tools in getting your students, especially your ELL students, really thinking and writing!
