This 3-page webquest allows students to independently research the major parts of the U.S. Federal Bureaucracy to discover the essential roles and functions of various departments, agencies, and offices. The webquest is broken down into 4 major sections: The Executive Office of the President (EOP), Executive Departments (Cabinet), Independent Agencies (including regulatory commissions and government corporations), and the Civil Service. Students will research and explain key parts of the bureaucracy and complete a True/False section about the Civil Service. The webquest includes several links and directions to make student research simple and the folder includes an answer key for your convenience! This resource is great for regular or AP® U.S. Government courses.
