Included are three readings on case studies involving federalism. The topics included are: Federalism and Gun Control Laws, Federalism and Tobacco Advertising Laws, and Federalism and Air Pollution Laws.
Each reading briefly describes the issue and how state and national laws either overlap or conflict on it. These readings do an excellent job applying principles of federalism to real world situations and problems.
Each reading includes three discussions questions that require students to think through each issue. The questions also ask students to provide a stance on the arguments for and against the role of the state and national government on each issue
