This product is a differentiated lesson on The Federalist Papers #10, 51, and 78. I have designed two lessons with varying supports to help both AP® Government classes and regular U.S. Government classes of varying abilities tackle this challenging primary source. I have included a brief 6-slide power point presentation to give students some context on The Federalist Papers and included two versions of an analysis assignment, where students will work together to break down and interpret Federalist #10, 51, and 78. The "Advanced" version is more challenging and requires students to read through the original text, learn about the key messages of each, and discuss follow-up questions. That version is designed to challenge AP® or Honors classes. The "Standard" version breaks down the three articles and requires students to look at specific quotes from the primary sources. They will still be challenged to interpret The Federalist Papers, but with some extra supports to help them be successful. Both assignments come with answer keys and a teacher directions page for successful use in your classroom! Check out the preview for more info.
