Working on categorization and pronouns can be very tricky for young children with language delays. Feed the Chefs is a highly engaging activity that works well one-on-one or groups. It also works well for asking and answering who, and what questions, describing, building vocabulary and pronouncing multisyllabic words.
This game includes:
★ One girl chef
★ One boy chef
★ 103 different types of food (Note: there are two foods found predominately in Canada. They are labeled as such.)
★ Card covers to better organize the different types of food
➀Set up the chefs. Cereal boxes, larger plastic food storage containers, or book stands work well.
➁Once you have decided what goals you are working on, pick the appropriate food and lay it out. Then have the children feed the chefs as they are completing the activity or once they have asked the question.
➂Use the chefs like puppets and have them talk and respond to the food that they have eaten. This makes the activities more engaging, and you will find that the children stay longer.
Thanks for viewing this game. The children I work with love to play it, and I hope your students will too! Please feel free to send me any comments or feedback you may have.
