I encourage students to create their own thermometers to help me gain insight into how they rate their own emotions. I encourage students to be creative utilizing colors to assist in identifying transitions to different emotions or using emoji stickers to assist in labeling/identifying emotions.
I have also laminated their finished product and used it as a tool in the classroom. Students can utilize these as a tool to communicate their emotions to others (such as the teacher) when using words is difficult.
Great to also use as a personalized feelings check in!
