Product Description
English Communication Activities (SURVEY) are activities for practicing English in a "real" situation (as opposed to call/response, etc.). The survey aspect involves each student collecting information from other students.

The Feelings SURVEY can be completed using students' real-world answers, answers predetermined by the teacher (using cards that are included), or a combination of the two, for example using cards for the first part of the activity and real-world answers as follow-up practice. The students ask classmates' names and their feelings, which they record on their worksheet. There is also a PowerPoint presentation to increase motivation and understanding. The PowerPoint in this activity is an explanation and demonstration of how to conduct the activity.

This activity can be completed in a number of different ways: pairs, small groups, progressively-large groups, or whole-class survey.

The focus of learning is the grammar patterns "How is _[Name]_?", "He’s/She’s _[feeling]_," and the feelings mad, busy, sick, sad, bored, excited, tired, and happy. For the real-world part of the activity, added to these would be "What's your name?", "My name is _[Name]_," "How do you spell _[Name]_?", "How are you?", and "I'm _[feeling]_."

This product includes a worksheet (both PDF and DOC versions), an interactive PowerPoint file that demonstrates the activity (clicking on the pictures cues a demonstration for each step of the activity); a PowerPoint file to demonstrate how to group students; a TXT file with explanations and examples for teaching; and a board layout for beginning the lesson.

The material included in the sample includes the PowerPoint files (the Feelings PPT only includes a few slides and is an un-editable PPS, while the purchased version can be edited; and the detail level of pictures has been reduced for a smaller file size), the single-sided worksheet (not the double-sided option) saved as an un-editable PDF, while the purchased version includes both PDF (for ease of printing) and DOC (for editing), and blank cards.
