PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Annotating and Annolighting are the two skills on which this lesson in focused. Annotating and Annotlighting (a form of annotating that is color coded) are great ways to have students interact with text, even if it's through post-it notes.

The pages this lesson plan calls on from August Wilson's Fences are pages 9 through 20. Models and examples for teacher demonstration are included in this lesson plan.

Additionally, the lesson centers around characterization and introduces the term protagonist.

As with all of my lessons, included in this lesson plan are the aim, do-now, instructional objective, appropriate definitions, a graphic organizer for visual learners, and more.

P.S. Regarding teaching duration, it's not impossible to do this lesson in one day, but I can see having this lesson last 2 - 4 days reinforcing it each day. There is a good amount of skills used in this lesson.
