Students will conduct an in-class simulation that mirrors the organization and responsibilities of medieval society. Pupils will assume the roles of lords, knights, and serfs, and be required to perform certain tasks that highlight the societal expectations of these classes. Privileges, rewards, and restrictions granted during the simulation will mimic feudal life and reveal the inequalities inherent in manorialism. Total class time needed is one period.
