After completing these two handouts on feudalism in medieval Japan, students will have a clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the shogun, daimyos, samurai and peasants. Students will also have the opportunity to express their opinion in regards to which social group they would choose to be a part of. Then, using their critical thinking skills and by making connections, students will explain why the United States does not adopt the system of feudalism.
