Fever 1793 by Laurie Halse Anderson Novel Unit Study. This novel unit includes vocabulary terms, poetry, author biography research, themes, character traits, and chapter summary activities. A bookmark is included with plenty of room for creativity and note taking. If you're looking for a complete book unit that is full of higher-level activities and NOT boring multiple choice tests, then this is it!
Included in this resource is an art poster with a quote from the book. Perfect to hang on your bulletin board or make extra copies to send home with your students... it's a great way to continue making connections to your novel even when it's not reading time. My favorite way of using quotes is for an easy writing prompt. Encourage your students to think about what influenced the author's purpose behind their words.
In addition, you'll find a BONUS tri-fold bookmark that makes note taking during reading time super easy!
Looking for the "Fever 1793" Interactive Notebook with cut, fold, and paste activities? Some teachers like to have both versions for the different needs of their students. You can find it HERE:

***FIND LOTS MORE RELAXED NOVEL UNITS HERE***
This novel study is designed to be a relaxed unit for both teacher and students. You will notice that I do not include quizzes or tests in any of my novel studies or interactive notebooks. As an English teacher, I prefer to not use reading as a time to test using multiple choice, true or false, fill-in-the-blank, or matching assessments. I want my students to enjoy reading and not have worry about what's coming when they are done.
Your students will work on the following tasks:
Writing a Book Review
Author Biography Research
