Introduce your students to the fabulous world of crochet and amigurumi with this simple and easy-to-customize pattern! Create a litte boy doll with a hat, and change yarn colors for a custom look!

This doll is modeled after Monkey D. Luffy, a pirate character from the famous Japanese manga & anime, ONE PIECE.


Level: Easy
(Suitable for beginners knowledgeable of or learning general crochet terms. See below for exact crochet stitches used.)


Finished Measurements: approximately 7 cm in height

Stitches used: chain (ch), single crochet (sc), slip stitch (sl st)
*In US Terminology*

Special terms
• Dec (decrease, sc2tog, single crochet two stitches together)
• Inc (increase, two single crochet in same stitch)
• Magic ring
• Sl st (slip stitch)

• Medium weight “4” yarn
(Such as: Caron’s Simply Soft)
Yarn colors:
- Peach (skin)
- Red (shirt, hat, mouth)
- Yellow (hat, shirt buttons)
- Blue (pants)
- Black (hair)
• 3.50 mm crochet hook
• Pair of 6mm plastic safety eyes
• Yarn needle
• Fiberfill stuffing
• Optional: small, clean pebbles to add weight to bottom of doll (for standing)
