This is a fiction book report for students to review and reinforce the skill of showing and not telling. Students will find instances where the writer does this in a book they are reading. They will keep in mind that the writer uses this story writing strategy to help the reader feel connected to the main character and care what happens to him or her. Students will write a letter to the author citing parts of the story that are shown to the reader and how this has helped them establish a connection to the main character and to ultimately care what happens to that character.
