This flipbook is the foundation of how I teach literary elements of fiction and their conceptual interrelationships to students (from 8th grade to AP).
General Instructions: This book is designed to be a student resource—scaffolding for a student in learning how to analyze literature. The book itself has 13 pages with both color and black & white versions. Also included are blank pages if you would like to create your own or have students take notes on these.
Each concept has a definition of a literary concept, examples and/or aspects of how each concept may appear in a work of fiction in conjunction with other elements. Additionally, I have included charts of tone words (positive, neutral, and negative) and mood words (positive and negative).

If you print the pages, you can cut on the dotted lines to have a tabbed flipbook for students to use. I have used multi-colored paper when printing in BW, and have printed two per page when making these for students. When creating a class-set to use for a few years, you can laminate these and bind with a classroom binding machine.
This Flip Book has a cover page and 13 content pages (listed above). You can provide notes for students, or use the notes I have provided as an instructional resource.
You may print in color or black & white, and I've included PDFs files for 3 versions of the book, both with notes and blank; the PowerPoint files work well on Interactive White Boards. Also included are the JPEG graphic files of each page if you would like to use one page for a specific lesson.
