Set of 15 Task Cards for use with any novel or short story. The task cards ask students to identify and explain various literary terms. Can be used in a variety of ways to reinforce the parts of the story. One blank card included that can be used for any teacher-write in.
These task cards can be used as a set, in groupings, or even individually. Great to wrap up a story, take notes on a story for a later project or activity, or review for a test. These can also function as quick formative assessment, with students answering one question as they leave class for the day, for example.
Grading can be done with the provided rubric.
The cards do have some color, but print well in black in white.
Concepts covered on task cards:
Theme, protagonist/ antagonist, Type of conflict, inciting moment, resolution, tone, primary setting(s), primary genre, allusions, symbols, figurative language.
Four cards ask for quotes related to parts of the text.
All cards require explanation of the answer.
