This product was created to help teachers assess student comprehension in a concrete way - while also allowing for the assessment to be administered in a variety of ways. Teachers may choose to give this assessment in an individual, small group, or large group setting with either pencil or paper or perhaps using an app like SeeSaw for students to record their answers.
Each assessment (both fiction and non fiction) is compromised of 8 questions with the standards covered as well as points possible labeled on each. Words and pictures are both included on each question to assist the child in more confidently choosing his/her answers.
Four specific books were used when creating this assessment and should be read to students before administering the assessment. These books can be found on Amazon, Scholastic, Youtube, as well as EPIC.
The books are:
Goldilocks and the Three Bears - By James Marshall
Little Red Riding Hood - By James Marshall
National Geographic Readers: Sleep, Bear!
National Geographic Kids Look and Learn: Bears
A recording sheet to keep track of all students scores as well as suggested guidelines of students understanding of the standards are also included.
