PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

One of the three shifts of the Common Core is to have students read an equal amount of fiction and informational text.Reading informational text 50% of the time is going to be a huge change in my classroom. In order to make sure my students are reading both fiction and informational text regularly I created a self-monitoring bookmark to empower students to independently keep track of their own reading.

Students will use the bookmarks in this pack to record if they are reading an informational of fiction text during reader's workshop. This is a simple way for students to participate in the changes of Common Core.
