Product Description
I created this visual aid sign to help my students remember the difference between fiction and nonfiction. The fiction half of the sign displays a drawn lion and several key words to help students remember what the term means. The nonfiction half of the sign displays a photograph of a lion and several key words to help students remember what the term means. Often times students know when a text is made up or true, but simply forget the definition of fiction and nonfiction. I have found that a quick glance at this sign helps students remember which word they need to describe or select a specific text. I've also color coded it to match the labeling system in my classroom library. My fiction section labels are red (I remind them: like the fictional character Clifford the big red dog) and the nonfiction labels are blue (I remind them: nonfiction books have 'cool blue' facts).

I hope this simple fiction vs. nonfiction visual aid is helpful to your students, too!
