This is a powerpoint presentation that should be displayed on a SMARTboard or via LCD projector.
There are ten slides not including the title page and credit page. Each slide has a scenario for the students to read or listen to with a relevant, accompanying graphic. The scenarios ask students to decide whether knowing the subject or whether knowing the author of a book they are looking for will help them the most.
I usually use this in conjunction with a review on how books and libraries are organized. Fiction books are organized by author and Nonfiction books are organized by subject.
When I show this on the SMARTboard, I have students come up and circle the correct answer. If you have a projector, you could have students use a pointer to point to the correct answer.
