This mini-project has students pretend they are having a party with their friends, and they must plan the menu and draw out what their plate/table-setting would look like.
This helps them categorize food words as, for example, fruit, vegetable, meat, dessert, etc.
There is a handout with a rectangle for them to draw their plate and place setting, and another handout for them to write out their menu by category.
This would be best for using with lower levels, right after you teach food and utensil vocabulary.
Rubric is included.
