Do you need a an engaging articulation activity to mix up your speech sessions? Grab an ink pad and this resource! It is an activity that keeps students busy during practice. My students love making thumbprint art and yours will too! No Prep and Ink Friendly
I designed this resource to go with my Cinco de Mayo lesson plans.
Speech on the Cob: A Speech Therapy Thumbprint Art Activity
This activity was designed to be a simple, no-prep craft activity to target articulation in an engaging way. These pages are no-prep (print & go).

This pack includes the following sounds: initial/final: p, b, m; final: n, t, d; initial/medial/final: k, g, f, v, l, s, z, ch, j, th, sh; pre-vocalic r; vocalic r (er, ar, or, air, ear, ire); rblends; lblends; sblends (separate mats for sp, st, sm, sn, sk, sl, sw, mixed). First practice, then make thumbprint watermelon seeds!
Materials Needed: Ink pad or paint (yellow recommended) and thumbprint seed pages.You could also dot the students' fingers with a bingo dotter if you don't have an ink pad.
Optional Assembly: Place them in a sheet protector or laminate to use with play dough.
To use: The student will practice the target word and then make a thumbprint corn kernel The student will place their thumb on an ink pad and then stamp it over an articulation word. The therapist will determine the number or trials per kernel. I have the students color the rest of the picture in between turns or when they are finished.
Variations:
Use play dough to smash to make kernels.
Use bingo chips to place over the kernels.
Use bingo dotters
