Fifth Grade Math Dictionary
An important aspect of math mastery is the ability to understand math’s unique language. In this dictionary students are asked to define, illustrate, provide an example and a non-example for each new word. When students apply the new word in a variety of ways they gain a better understanding of the mathematical concepts behind the procedure.
This dictionary features Marzano’s 30 essential fifth grade math terms in Frayer Model graphic organizers. The explicit, clear structure makes this workbook ideal for English Language Learners. Illustrations and examples encourage higher level thinking and promote creativity. Blank Frayer Models are included so new vocabulary can be added.
