A booklet that guides students through understanding the Literature Anthology story from McGraw-Hill Wonders (The Boy Who Drew Birds). The skills from the Wonders unit are practiced within questions that both require students to create their own answers and use text evidence to support their answers. The skills for this particular week and unit are Compare and Contrast and Context Clues.
My students use this as nightly homework or during ELA centers - works great as an independent or partner station and allows for accountability of the Literature Anthology text being read and comprehended. This packet also allows for independent practice of those skills needed for the cold read at the end of the week. Parents are also thankful for this as they feel like they now have a better grasp of the concepts being taught in class and how to better help with those concepts at home.
Booklet includes a chart where students can track their level of understanding (for the comprehension and vocabulary skill in question) both before and after reading the text.
Product must be printed on both sides, flipping on the SHORT edge. Printed this way, you should be able to fold and staple the pages in the order they print to make a booklet - no flipping or organizing pages!
