PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

A three column packet that accompanies the Literature Anthology story from McGraw-Hill Wonders (Survival at 40 Below). The skills from the Wonders unit are practiced within questions that both require students to create their own answers and use text evidence to support their answers. The skills for this particular week and unit are Cause and Effect and Paragraph Context Clues.

My students use this as nightly homework and work through approximately one page a night. Broken down like this, students only need to complete 5 questions (at most!) a night. Other teachers have stated that this is a great independent or partner station during ELA centers and allows for accountability of the Literature Anthology text being read and comprehended. This packet also allows for independent practice of those skills needed for the cold read at the end of the week. Parents are also thankful for this as they feel like they now have a better grasp of the concepts being taught in class and how to better help with those concepts at home.
