This is a one day lesson including a do now, viewing time and worksheet.
Students watch Leave it to Beaver. I model taking notes on the worksheet after 3 minutes of viewing. Then I let the episode play.
I then model one of the Claim, Evidence, Analysis worksheet.
I use this lesson in my mainstream and ESL classes. The language for the Claims is complex, students use each other as resources to break down the complex text.
There are sentence frames provided for the Evidence and Analysis.
You will need to watch Leave it To Beaver. I get the DVD from my library, but there are also clips of different episodes available on line. Almost any clip will work.
