Figurative Flash is a card game designed to help 4th grade students learn the concepts of figurative language. Specifically idiom, metaphor, simile, personification, alliteration, onomatopoeia and irony. In groups of 4, each student draws 14 figurative language example cards. Students take turns drawing from a deck containing figurative language terms, and race to match one of their example cards to the term. If they make a correct match first, they get to discard their example card and the term card. The first student to get rid of all of their cards wins. There are 56 example card and 56 term cards. It is meant to be played accompanied by buzzers for the students to use when they make a match, but can be adjusted easily to be played without this component. Complete in-depth rules and instructions are included in the last page of the printing PDF.
