This should only be done after students have gained an understanding of figurative language.
In this PowerPoint, students are given 14 example sentences containing figurative language. Students create a Bingo type board and use a place marker to identify the type of figurative language each sentence contains. I typically quickly check each student's answer for accuracy. This is a perfect time to clear up any misconceptions.
Students may simply write answers on their paper. An answer key is provided on the last slide.
Slides contain 2 examples for each type of figurative language: simile, metaphor, personification, rhyme scheme, internal rhyme, onomatopoeia, alliteration
