Teaching Figurative Language is fun! This product is designed to be used with the book Dalton's Dress-Up DIlemma but can be used with another figurative language book too. Use this product to display colorful posters around your classroom, a flip-book for students to find examples of figurative language, a puzzle matching activity, and an assessment for students to show understanding of Figurative Language examples.
Inside you will find 9 COLORED POSTERS that have examples of idiom, simile, metaphor, alliteration, imagery, hyperbole, personification, onomatopoeia & oxymoron
EACH POSTER CONTAINS:
•Definition of the Example
•Picture of the character from book Dalton's Dress-Up Dilemma using the example
•Additional Examples of the type of figurative language
FLIP-BOOK ACTIVITY:
The flipbook cover does have Dalton’s Dress-Up Dilemma (as seen in product preview) but can be used with another book that is read to identify examples of idiom, simile, metaphor, alliteration, imagery, hyperbole, personification, onomatopoeia & oxymoron.
PUZZLE MATCHING ACTIVITY:
This product is designed to be used in centers, as a pair or to use independently by a student. As seen in the picture each puzzle piece contains the word, definition, and an example. Once cut apart, the puzzle pieces will only fit if the puzzle is put together correctly.
Also inside is a matching activity ASSESSMENT with an answer key to have students show their knowledge on each of the styles of Figurative Language.
