Do you need engaging and low prep figurative language activities and centers for 4th and 5th graders? This resource includes 11 figurative language activities, centers, and games that are rigorous and engaging.
This resource contains three different types of figurative language activities to review figurative language in different ways.
Included are six centers, each consisting of one passage and a game board with text-dependent questions focusing on determining the meaning of figurative language and defining what type is used. For more information about the numerous options for these games, see page 4.
Included are three bump games with directions and answer keys. Two of the games review common idioms, and one game reviews metaphors, similes, personification, and hyperboles.
There are two sorting centers also included: one for sorting similes and metaphors and one for sorting personification and hyperboles.
These figurative language activities would work great for reading test prep centers, reading stations, and partner reading.
