Review Seven Different Types of Language:
Included in this product you will find the three items: one figurative language find, one memory game, and one flip book to fill in. You could use these during different times like when teaching a unit, in a rotation model when students work on each one for a certain amount of time, or independently. The flip book and find could be used as independent practice, whole group, or small group practice.
Figurative Language Find:
Students will need to define the different types of figurative language and then find examples in their reading. This would be great to do in small groups, with a book study, when students are reading independently, or when listening to a read aloud.
Figurative Language Memory:
There are 28 cards that cover 7 different types of figurative language. There is the name of each figurative language, the definition, and two examples of each. The goal is to find a pair. There will be multiple options for matches seeing as there are four cards for each type of figurative language.
The flip book gives students the opportunity to define each type of figurative language, use it in a sentence, and draw a picture of it’s figurative meaning and it’s literal meaning.
