Help students master their figurative language skills with these four centers:

1) Figurative and Literal drawing activity- Students distinguish between figurative language and literal language by drawing pictures

2) Simile and Metaphor activity- Students cut, sort and glue similes and metaphors into the correct category.

3) Personification sort activity- Students read a story, put it in the correct chronological order and then write what is being personified in each section.

4) Hyperbole Excuses activity- Students come up with exaggerated excuses to help make sure they don't eat off a nasty menu!
