Back to School - Why not start your class out thinking deeper from day one?
Figurative Language on a daily basis! Explore the words of these great men - great common core activities!
Great morning work!
This set includes 53 quotes!
During January and February we celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Birthday and President’s Day in the United States. It is important that we expose our students to these historical icons, but I love doing it using their actual words. I find that these quotes are a great springboard to discussions regarding the formation of our country, slavery, and the Civil Rights Movement. Since these are topics that are subject to opinion, they are a fabulous way to inspire students to “think intensively and to think critically!” At the end of the unit you will find three sets of quote pairings – Lincoln and King where they are speaking on similar topics. I use these as debate topics or a Socratic Seminar. The students absolutely love these activities!

Inspire your students to be deeper thinkers, while helping to develop their listening and speaking skills!
