Teach your middle school students the important figurative language vocabulary including simile, metaphor, personification, hyperbole, alliteration, idiom, irony, & onomatopoeia with DIGITAL interactive guided notes I call Pixanotes®!

What are Pixanotes®?

Pixanotes® are a blend of the structure of traditional two-column notes and visual/interactive notes. There are 4 versions all with the same content so that every student can get what they need.

They range from the most scaffolded version with preprinted content and picture flaps so students can highlight key information to the least scaffolded version with fill in the blanks for content and picture flaps that students place next to the correct information.

Combine the right brain benefits of the visuals with the left brain advantages of the structure to say hello to higher test scores!

Be sure to check out the preview and if you'd like to see other Pixanotes® in action, check out this FREE video: How to Use Pixanotes®

Pixanotes® are fully differentiated!

This resource includes:

★ Pixanotes® with moveable pictures and no blanks (highest level of structure)

★ Pixanotes® with pre-placed pictures and moveable words for the blanks (moderate level of structure)

★ Pixanotes® with moveable pictures and moveable words for the blanks (lowest level of structure)

The full paper version so you can choose to print out your Pixanotes® for students who are required to have paper copies as per their IEP or other plan.

★ PowerPoint to use with the notes

★ Video of the PowerPoint that can be posted on any password-protected learning management system such as Canvas or Google Classroom.

★ Digital Dominoes Game to use to practice with the terms

I hope this helps your middle school students learn the key vocabulary for figurative language!
