After learning via anchor charts...students will cut out 7 ice cream cones with the figurative language and the definition. Then they will match three different scoops of ice cream for each ice cream cone that includes a sentence with that specific figurative language. For example:
On the idiom cone...the sentences that are on each ice cream scoop are:
1. It’s raining cats and dogs outside today!
2. Vicki gave her friend the cold shoulder because she was angry with him.
3 “Break a leg” my friendshouted as I started playing in my first baseball game.
