Review idioms with your students by using this packet. This packet has no lesson plans. It includes resources for introducing and/or reviewing idioms. You will find the following:
Mini-Poster with definition and examples of idioms. Use as a display.
Writing sheets (10) with clip art and simple prompts for student writing. Students read the prompt, write their draft on scrap paper and proofread. When they are ready, they use the writing sheet for their final copy.
Puzzles (12) with clip art, idiom and an explanation of the idiom. The pictures are perfect to use when you introduce idioms. The puzzles are also good to use as matching activities during direct instruction or as an independent center. Print on index paper, laminate for long term use, cut out, and store in a Ziploc baggie.
Puzzle Worksheets (12) with a sentence using an idiom. Students read the sentence, illustrate the idiom and write the definition of the idiom.
